PKS Engineering is an automobile component manufacturer. The company specializes in Gravity Dies, Bakelite Dies, glass moulds, rubber moulds, jigs & fixtures, etc., supplying to automotive clients who expect precision, consistent quality, and on-time delivery, every time.

With two production units, an experienced engineering team, and a well-equipped tool room, PKS Engineering earned a strong reputation in the automotive components space.

But as order volumes grew and operations got more complex, the systems behind the scenes started struggling to keep up.

The Problem

PKS Engineering was managing everything through Tally for accounts and spreadsheets for the rest. It looked manageable on the surface, but the real picture was messier.

  • Inventory was the biggest headache. 
  • Raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods were tracked reliably in real time. Stock levels were updated manually, which meant the numbers were almost always behind what was actually on the floor. Shortages were often discovered only after they had already disrupted production.
  • Quality reporting had its own issues. Every inspection and rejection was written down by hand, with no digital trail and no easy way to spot recurring problems. Tracing a quality issue back to its root cause was slow and frustrating.
  • For management, getting a clear picture of daily operations meant chasing people across departments for updates. There was no single place to see production status, inventory, and quality outcomes together; decisions were being made on incomplete information.

Our Approach

When PKS Engineering approached GSUS, the team didn't just look at the software gap; they looked at the workflow gap. 

We spent time on the ground understanding how work actually moved through the business: purchases, material receipts, production jobs, quality checks, and how it all eventually fed into the books.

What they found was a team working hard but in silos. No shared system, no live visibility across departments. All of this was compiled into a detailed requirements document, reviewed with the PKS Engineering team, and refined until it captured the full picture, then implementation began.

The Solution: Odoo ERP

GSUS recommended Odoo to bring everything together on one platform: inventory, production, quality, and operations, all connected and speaking to each other in real time. 

  • Every module used in Odoo feeds into a single unified dashboard, giving the management team a live view of the entire operation,  inventory levels, production status, purchase flow, and quality outcomes, all in one place, without needing to call anyone or wait for a report.
  • One practical decision was made around accounting. PKS Engineering had been using Tally for years and was comfortable with it. Rather than force an unnecessary change, Odoo was configured to handle all operational modules while Tally continued managing the accounts, both aligned to work together smoothly.

Solution Implementation

GSUS configured the Odoo module by module, testing each area with real operational data before moving forward. Production staff, quality inspectors, and store managers were brought in early, testing workflows and giving feedback as the system was built. 

By go-live, the team was already confident using it. Existing spreadsheet data was migrated into Odoo to ensure a smooth, uninterrupted transition.

The shift was felt almost immediately. For a business that had been running on manual updates and instinct, having accurate, live data changed how the entire team operated.

  • Inventory accuracy improved significantly, and the production floor always knows what's available. Quality records have moved fully digital, making it easy to track trends and maintain documentation. 
  • Management now monitors inventory, production, and quality together from a single live dashboard. Purchase and material flow are tracked end to end, reducing production stoppages.
  • And with everyone working from the same data, decisions are faster and cross-department coordination is noticeably smoother.
  • PKS Engineering still uses Tally for accounting, and that works perfectly. What Odoo gave them is visibility and control over everything else. For the first time, it all connects.
