Samagra – The Build Zone is a construction materials retail store built around one simple idea: give builders, contractors, and homeowners everything they need under one roof. 

From structural materials to finishing supplies, Samagra positions itself as a true one-stop construction hub, covering the full range of building needs in one place.

Over time, the business grew from a trusted local shop into a structured retail brand with a loyal customer base across the region. But as operations scaled up, it became clear that the internal systems running the business hadn't kept pace, and that's what brought Samagra to GSUS.

The Problem

Behind a busy retail operation, things were getting harder to manage. Samagra had been running on Tally for accounts and Excel for pretty much everything else, inventory, orders, customer records, and attendance.

  •  In the early days, it held up. But as the business grew, the cracks started showing. Nothing was connected. Finance sat in Tally, stock data lived in spreadsheets, and customer information was scattered across different files updated by different people.
  • There was no way to track products across the store or monitor movement in real time. Attendance was still manual, with no biometric system in place. Every department was working in its own corner, and pulling together any kind of business overview took real effort.
  • The core problem was straightforward: there was no single, centralized system managing everything together.

Our Approach

When Samagra came to GSUS, the team started by getting a proper understanding of how the business actually ran day to day. That meant speaking with department leads, observing workflows, and tracing how data moved, or didn't move, between tools.

From that, GSUS put together a detailed requirements document covering every key area: inventory, finance, HR, and customer management. That document was reviewed with the Samagra team until everyone was fully aligned. Only then did implementation begin.

The Solution: Odoo ERP

GSUS recommended Odoo as the platform to bring everything together, one system, one source of truth. 

  • The solution was configured to cover all the critical areas of the business, including product QR code generation and management, QR scanner integration for fast product lookup, real-time product tracking across the store, a biometric attendance system, a fully integrated finance and accounting module replacing Tally, and centralized customer and order management.

Solution Implementation

Once the requirements were signed off, GSUS moved quickly. The full project was planned across six months, but the team prioritized the most critical modules, core inventory, QR tracking, and finance, and had Phase 1 live within just 15 to 30 days.

Each feature was handed over for testing as it was built. The Samagra team reviewed, gave feedback, and approved before the next phase began. Nobody was left waiting on a big reveal at the end

Customer Impact

The results were visible almost immediately. Scattered spreadsheets and manual processes gave way to a single platform the whole team could work from and trust.

  • Finance teams had real-time visibility into cash flow and invoices without manual reconciliation. Every product was traceable via QR code from the warehouse floor to delivery. 
  • Biometric attendance replaced manual registers. And customer-facing staff could access full order histories on the spot.
  • Most importantly, Samagra's leadership gained something they didn't have before: the ability to make decisions based on accurate, live data. The business runs faster, cleaner, and with a lot more confidence.
